$200 Million Solar Farm to Begin Construction in Marion County
Pathway Power plans to initiate construction on a $200 million solar farm in Marion County next year covering 2,000 acres. The project aims to address regional energy shortages and create approximately 250 jobs during construction, along with ongoing operational roles.

Pathway Power is set to start construction on a $200 million solar farm in Marion County in early 2027. The facility will span 2,000 acres and is expected to provide energy and battery storage capabilities to the regional power grid, addressing anticipated electrical shortages over the next 5 to 10 years.
The project aims to create around 250 jobs during construction, with additional roles for operations and maintenance post-completion. Pathway Power is seeking a tax abatement from Marion County, which will undergo public hearings for approval.
The solar farm is designed to operate for 30 to 40 years and will utilize American-manufactured materials. Local water sources will not be needed for its operation, and the project has no requirements for environmental permits from the county.
