Arunachal Pradesh is developing 33 hydropower projects totaling 19,165 MW in capacity. Currently, five projects have been commissioned: Dikshi (24 MW), Kameng (600 MW), Khangtang (7 MW), Lower Panyor (405 MW), and Pare (110 MW).

NEEPCO has the most projects at 11, with three operational. Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam has five, and NHPC has three. The future largest project, Dibang Multipurpose, will have a capacity of 2,880 MW. The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, located on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh boundary, is nearing completion with an installed capacity of 2,000 MW, progressing through sequential commissioning of its eight units.
