33 Hydropower Projects Under Development in Arunachal Pradesh with 19,165 MW Capacity
Arunachal Pradesh is advancing 33 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 19,165 MW. Currently, five projects are operational, including Kameng HEP (600 MW) and Pare HEP (110 MW). NEEPCO leads with 11 projects, followed by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (5) and NHPC (3). The Dibang Multipurpose Project, at 2,880 MW, will be the largest upon completion. The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, with 2,000 MW capacity, is in advanced stages, with units commissioned sequentially.

NEEPCO has the most projects at 11, with three operational. Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam has five, and NHPC has three. The future largest project, Dibang Multipurpose, will have a capacity of 2,880 MW. The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, located on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh boundary, is nearing completion with an installed capacity of 2,000 MW, progressing through sequential commissioning of its eight units.
