€5 Million Grant for Electrolyzer in Bavaria to Boost Green Hydrogen Production
Bavaria has announced a €5 million funding initiative for H2 Nes GmbH to construct an electrolyzer in Bad Neustadt, aimed at producing 850 tons of green hydrogen annually. This project supports regional decarbonization efforts in heavy goods transport and industry.

The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs is allocating €5 million to H2 Nes GmbH for constructing an electrolyzer with an 8 MW capacity. The facility will generate approximately 850 tons of green hydrogen each year, with a primary focus on decarbonizing regional transport and industrial processes.
Bavaria has committed a total of €220 million to enhance hydrogen infrastructure through various programs. An additional €15 million funding program for hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles will be launched in July 2026. The initiative reflects Bavaria's broader strategy to advance hydrogen technology and support the energy transition.
