€500,000 Invested in Ten Youth-Led Climate Justice Projects in Ireland
Ireland's Minister for Education and Youth has allocated nearly €500,000 for ten youth-led climate initiatives in 2026, reflecting the government's commitment to youth engagement in climate action. These projects aim to enhance climate awareness and drive practical community actions among participants aged 10 to 25.

In 2026, €500,000 will be invested in ten youth-led climate justice projects across Ireland, promoting community engagement and climate education. The initiatives funded include a Climate Justice residential for 50 participants and a hydrogen education program aimed at 100 young individuals.
Other projects involve themed events for Climate Justice Week, a focus on UN Sustainable Development Goal 15, and the creation of Climate Justice toolkits. Since its inception in 2020, the Youth Climate Justice Fund has contributed nearly €3.5 million to empower youth in climate action, enhancing skills and awareness within communities. These initiatives may significantly influence youth engagement in sustainability efforts nationwide.
