HYDRO POWER

The Caculo Cabaça Hydropower Station has started operations with a newly installed 550-ton bridge crane. Located in Dondo City, North Kwanza Province, Angola, this project is the largest energy initiative by a Chinese company in the country and is referred to as the 'Three Gorges Project of Africa.'

Situated 270 kilometers from Luanda, it is the third stage of eight planned hydropower stations on the Kwanza River. The facility will have a total installed capacity of 2,172 megawatts and is projected to produce an average annual electricity output of 8,566 gigawatt-hours, contributing to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 7.2 million tons per year.
