AMMONIA

The PEACE-Air project, funded by PEACEPLUS with €6,499,957, was launched at Atlantic Technological University in Donegal. This cross-border initiative aims to improve air quality and enhance cooperation across the island of Ireland by tackling major pollution sources: solid fuel burning, transport emissions, and agricultural ammonia.

The project involves local authorities, universities, environmental agencies, health organizations, and community groups. Key partners include ERNACT, Donegal County Council, and Queen's University Belfast.

The initiative will also develop the first cross-border Strategy and Action Plan for Clean Air, ensuring evidence-based policy-making and community engagement. The launch emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing air pollution and promoting environmental sustainability.
