£6m Funding Approved for Offshore Wind Developments in Highland and Lewis
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has approved £6m for two offshore wind projects in Scotland, part of a £500m investment by the Scottish Government. Navantia UK Ltd will receive £2.05m for capacity improvements at Arnish Yard, potentially increasing its workforce from 150 to 250. Additionally, £3.959m will support the Ardersier Energy Transition Facility, enhancing infrastructure for offshore wind components. HIE’s total investment in Arnish is now over £8.2m, contributing to Scotland’s clean energy sector and job creation.

Navantia UK Ltd will receive £2.05m for a £5m project at Arnish Yard in Stornoway to increase capacity and productivity in offshore wind infrastructure, potentially raising its workforce from 150 to 250.
A £3.959m investment will advance the Ardersier Energy Transition Facility, which will support the deployment, servicing, manufacturing, and integration of offshore wind components. HIE's total investment in Arnish now exceeds £8.2m.
