Aalo Atomics Proposes Mass Production of Modular Nuclear Power Plants for Rapid Deployment
Matt Loszak, founder of Aalo Atomics, discusses plans to mass-produce modular nuclear power plants in gigafactories, targeting data centers that require rapid energy solutions. The company aims to shift the nuclear industry focus from conventional lightwater reactors to advanced designs using alternative coolants like sodium and molten salt, which offer higher efficiency and smaller reactor sizes. Aalo Atomics plans to turn on its first nuclear power plant in under a year and seeks to bring down costs to compete with fossil fuels.

Aalo Atomics, led by CEO Matt Loszak, is developing a strategy to mass-produce modular nuclear power plants in gigafactories, focusing initially on data centers that need rapid energy solutions. The company aims to move away from traditional lightwater reactors to advanced reactors that utilize alternative coolants, such as sodium and molten salt, which can improve efficiency and reduce reactor size.
Loszak highlighted the potential for these advanced reactors to unlock a broader market for nuclear energy. Aalo Atomics plans to activate its first nuclear power plant within a year and aims to lower costs below 10 cents per kilowatt hour to compete with fossil fuels.
