AAON Achieves DOE Certification for Dual Fuel HVAC Technology with EXTREME SERIES
AAON's EXTREME SERIES rooftop units are the first AHRI-certified packaged HVAC systems to offer simultaneous dual fuel technology, allowing for operation in extreme cold temperatures down to -20°F. This innovation provides building owners with flexible heating options using both air source heat pumps and natural gas furnaces. The units are designed in compliance with upcoming performance standards and are available for commercial orders.

AAON's Alpha Class EXTREME SERIES has achieved AHRI certification, making it the first commercially available packaged rooftop HVAC unit to feature simultaneous dual fuel technology. This system allows the air source heat pump to serve as the primary heating source, with a natural gas furnace providing supplementary heat during extreme cold, operating effectively at temperatures down to -20°F.
The units meet the DOE Challenge performance requirement of -10°F. EXTREME SERIES is designed to retrofit existing commercial buildings and is available in sizes from 3 to 40 tons. AAON's products are made in America, leveraging domestic engineering and infrastructure.
