AB-Batteries distributor will establish an alkaline battery plant in Kuban by 2026, with an investment of 1 billion rubles. The plant will have a capacity of 264 million batteries annually, capturing 40% of the Russian market.

Construction started in 2022, and the project will include two production lines for AA and AAA batteries. The regional authorities noted that 27 import-substitution projects are ongoing, with nine set to launch in 2026.
