ABCI Infrastructures Secures CESC's 80 MWh Battery Storage Project
ABCI Infrastructures has won a contract to establish a 40 MW/80 MWh battery storage system for CESC in Kolkata. This project is significant for enhancing energy storage capabilities and supporting grid stability in the region.

ABCI Infrastructures has been awarded a contract to develop a 40 MW/80 MWh standalone battery energy storage system at CESC's New Cossipore generating station in Kolkata. The project will be implemented under a 12-year power purchase agreement at a tariff of ₹326,000 (~$3,488.33)/MW/month, following a tender released in July 2025.
Responsibilities include site survey, design, engineering, supply, installation, and testing. The system must connect to CESC's 33 kV switchboard, operate with a round-trip efficiency of 90%, and maintain system availability above 95%. This project could impact energy management and storage solutions in the region.
