Abilene Approves Water Supply Amendment for Large RV Park Project
Abilene city leaders have approved a water supply contract amendment to support a large RV park with 2,300 spaces, which is under construction at 938 Elmdale Road North. This park will provide temporary housing for workers associated with nearby data centers. The amendment allows for a 3-inch water line, exceeding the typical limit of 1.5 inches, and is expected to increase water usage fourfold as the park expands. The city is coordinating with Hamby Water Supply Corporation to manage demand.

The Abilene City Council approved an amendment to the water supply contract with Hamby Water Supply Corporation to support a large RV park under construction at 938 Elmdale Road North. The park, expected to contain 2,300 RV spaces, aims to provide temporary housing for workers linked to local data center projects.
The amendment permits a 3-inch water line, double the standard limit, to accommodate increased water demand, which could rise fourfold as the park expands. Currently, 500 to 600 spaces are in use with a standard connection. The overall system impact remains under 1% of total demand, and the city is monitoring future RV park developments.
