Acre to Monitor 10 Municipalities Under Cemaden in New Growth Acceleration Program
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Acre has been included in the first phase of the New Growth Acceleration Program (PAC), which allocates resources to modernize disaster monitoring by Cemaden. Out of 212 municipalities in this phase, ten are in Acre, equipped with rain gauges and tools for real-time monitoring of floods and landslides.
The program has a federal investment of R$ 50 million for equipment acquisition, a new data center, and technological infrastructure expansion. The goal is to enhance monitoring across all disaster-susceptible municipalities in Brazil by the end of 2026. In the North, Acre and Amazonas each have ten municipalities monitored, while Rondônia has seven.
