Actis to Invest $230 Million in Ostro Energy's Renewable Projects in India
Actis commits $230 million to Ostro Energy to develop renewable energy projects, starting with a 50.4 MW wind farm in Rajasthan. This investment is part of a broader strategy to enhance India's energy supply through renewable resources amidst fossil fuel shortages.

Actis will invest $230 million in Ostro Energy to promote renewable energy projects across India, beginning with the Tejuva wind energy project in Rajasthan, which has a capacity of 50.4 MW and is under construction. This initiative aims to provide a total of 800 MW across multiple states by 2019.
Actis has invested $1.9 billion in 27 energy transactions since 2002 and manages $7.6 billion in assets globally. The growing focus on renewables is critical for India due to coal and gas shortages and environmental challenges associated with traditional energy sources. This investment may significantly impact India's energy landscape by increasing reliance on wind energy.
