Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has commissioned a 3.37 GWh Battery Energy Storage System in Khavda, Gujarat, marking the largest single-location deployment outside China. This project, completed in 10 months, is pivotal for enhancing grid reliability and supporting India's transition to renewable energy.

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has successfully commissioned a 3.37 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Khavda, Gujarat. This deployment is reported as the world's largest single-location battery storage system outside China, completed within 10 months of construction commencement.
The BESS can supply power for a day to nearly one million homes and support peak demand in cities like Indore and Chandigarh. AGEL aims to expand its battery storage capacity by over 10 GWh in FY27 and up to 50 GWh in five years. This project also integrates advanced energy management and lithium-ion technologies, crucial for stabilizing power supply from renewable sources, which are variable in nature.
