Adderstone Group has established a subsidiary, Adderstone Construction (Falkland Islands) Ltd, in Port Stanley to support infrastructure growth in the Falkland Islands. The company has begun its first project, a £1.5 million refurbishment of an aircraft hangar for the Falkland Islands Government Air Service, funded by the Falkland Islands Government.
This project aims to enhance the reliability of the air taxi service vital for connecting over 750 islands. The construction incorporates structural steel sourced from Sunderland, linking the two regions.
Additionally, Adderstone is seeking further projects, including offshore worker accommodation, road construction, and public facilities such as schools and hospitals. The initiative is part of a broader investment program to meet the rising demand for skilled construction services in the diverse Falkland Islands economy, which includes commercial fishing, tourism, and agriculture.
