Adelphi University to Undertake $55M Modernization Project on Garden City Campus
Adelphi University plans a $55 million modernization project for its Garden City campus, focusing on upgrades to Hagedorn Hall and the Science Building. The Town of Hempstead LDC approved the sale of up to $125 million in tax-exempt bonds for the project, which aims to enhance facilities and infrastructure. Construction is set to start by March, with completion expected in 2029, and the project is anticipated to create 100 construction jobs.

Adelphi University is initiating a $55 million modernization project at its Garden City campus, focusing on Hagedorn Hall and the Science Building. Upgrades will include new athletic fields, a computer science lab, enhanced data center capabilities, and modern HVAC systems.
The Town of Hempstead Local Development Corp. approved up to $125 million in tax-exempt bonds to finance these improvements and refinance past bonds totaling over $56 million. The project is scheduled to begin in March and is expected to create 100 construction jobs, with completion targeted for 2029.
