Admedes Launches Advanced Stent Weaving Machine with B&R Automation
Admedes GmbH has unveiled a stent weaving machine that increases production speed and allows flexible wire configurations. This innovation may redefine production capabilities for Nitinol stents in the medical device sector.

Admedes GmbH's new stent weaving machine enhances production speed significantly while accommodating dynamic wire numbers and weaving patterns. It operates with a control center based on the Automation-PC 910, coordinating 96 wheel assemblies powered by 32 Acopos-P3 servodrives and managing 384 magnetic switches for efficient wire transfer.
The synchronization of 96 servomotors on a CNC core, a key engineering challenge, has been successfully achieved using B&R's automation technology. This development is expected to improve the efficiency of producing complex Nitinol stents, potentially altering production standards within the medical device industry.
