Advancements in Energy Storage Projects by Wanhua Chemical and Guoke Energy
Multiple companies in the energy storage sector are initiating significant projects, highlighting growth in battery materials and systems. This surge in investment and capacity expansion positions these companies to capture market opportunities in the rapidly evolving energy landscape.

Guoke Energy initiated a 20GWh energy storage cell project in Sichuan with a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan, set for completion in phases by 2028. Wanhua Chemical launched Phase I of its Haiyang Green Power Industrial Park, investing 16.8 billion yuan to produce lithium iron phosphate materials, with Phase II expected operational by late 2026.
Fulin Shidai is advancing a 500,000-ton lithium iron phosphate project in Ordos, aimed for completion within 12 months. Additionally, Jiuyao New Energy's all-vanadium flow battery manufacturing base and BOOSTESS's energy storage base are also progressing, enhancing regional capacity and technology. Increased production capabilities may impact supply chains and competitive dynamics within the energy storage market.
