Aecon Group Inc. has been awarded the contract to construct a $205 million wastewater treatment plant in Ritchot, Manitoba. The project is overseen by the Red-Seine-Rat Wastewater Cooperative, including municipalities like Niverville and Ritchot. The plant will serve up to 70,000 people, replace lagoons, and support 17,400 new housing starts. Construction is expected to create approximately 3,400 jobs. Funding includes $40 million from provincial and federal governments and a loan of up to $93 million from the Canada Infrastructure Bank.
