AET Orders First Hybrid Electric Shuttle Tanker from Dalian Shipbuilding, Delivery Scheduled for 2028
AET has contracted Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corp for its first hybrid electric shuttle tanker, a 154,000 dwt unit set for delivery in 2028. The vessel will feature an electric energy storage system and be dual-fuel ethanol-ready. This order supports AET's strategy of integrating innovative propulsion solutions while expanding its fleet, which includes over 70 vessels and 17 DP shuttle tankers operating in Brazil and Norway.

AET has ordered its first hybrid electric shuttle tanker from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corp. The 154,000 dwt vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2028 and will include an electric energy storage system, designed to be dual-fuel ethanol-ready.
This newbuild contributes to AET's fleet renewal and energy transition program, enhancing fuel flexibility as emissions regulations evolve. Currently, AET operates over 70 vessels, including 17 dynamic positioning shuttle tankers in Brazil and Norway. The investment aims to strengthen operational capabilities while delivering sustainable solutions in offshore energy production.
