Africa's Space Budget for 2025 Revised to USD 626.69 Million with New Satellite Investments
The African space budget for 2025 has been adjusted to USD 626.69 million due to new allocations, primarily driven by Morocco's satellite procurement. This revision underscores the impact of major infrastructure projects on overall space funding in the region.

The African space budget for 2025 has been increased to USD 626.69 million, reflecting updated allocations throughout the year. Initially, a total of USD 426.31 million was projected for space-related activities, but supplementary commitments led to the upward revision.
A significant contributor to this increase is Morocco's USD 1 billion agreement with Israel Aerospace Industries for two Ofek 13 reconnaissance satellites, expected to be implemented over five years. The annual allocation from this contract is approximately USD 200 million, supplemented by USD 2 million for operational costs. The adjustments illustrate how new funding can substantially reshape space investment planning in Africa.
