AGI Greenpac is investing Rs 1,200 crore in an aluminium can facility in Uttar Pradesh, set to start operations by October 2027. Additionally, a Rs 700 crore investment will establish a specialty glass manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh, expected to commence within two years.

AGI Greenpac is set to enter the aluminium can market with a Rs 1,200 crore investment in Uttar Pradesh, targeting operational commencement by October 2027. Concurrently, the company will invest Rs 700 crore in a new specialty glass plant in Madhya Pradesh, focusing on high-value segments like cosmetics and perfumes, with production slated to begin within 24 months from February 2026.
This expansion aims to enhance AGI's portfolio, which includes glass containers and PET bottles, amidst rising raw material costs and the demand for sustainable packaging. Automation and smart manufacturing technologies are becoming integral to operations, enhancing efficiency and minimizing errors, particularly in sectors vulnerable to counterfeiting such as pharmaceuticals. AGI also notes that Indian consumers are increasingly willing to pay a premium for sustainable packaging, aligning with a trend towards transparency and environmental responsibility.
