Agratas Achieves Key Milestone at Sanand Battery Plant Ahead of 2027 Production
Agratas has completed the steel structure of its battery plant in Sanand, with production set to begin in 2027. The facility will support India's clean energy transition by producing 20 GWh of battery capacity for electric vehicles and energy storage.

Agratas has completed the main steel structure of its battery manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat, a significant step towards its planned production start in 2027. The steel frame, measuring 700 metres by 150 metres and 34 metres high, utilized over 24,000 tonnes of steel and covers 105,000 square metres.
Construction, led by Tata Projects Limited, engaged over 2,500 workers at peak times. The facility aims to produce 20 GWh annually, contributing to India's clean energy goals and supporting local supply chains. This project is integral to enhancing India's battery manufacturing capabilities and achieving net zero emissions by 2070, necessitating skilled workforce development.
