AI Investment in ASEAN+ Expected to Rise 15% by 2026
A recent report indicates that 96% of organizations in the Asia-Pacific region plan to increase AI spending by an average of 15% by 2026, with a similar trend in the ASEAN+ region. Companies are transitioning from pilot projects to outcomes-focused AI, aiming for positive ROI, while 66% have already adopted AI technologies. Indonesia is set to benefit significantly, with a projected 14% annual growth in its data center industry, driven by rising AI workloads.

According to the Lenovo CIO Playbook 2026, 96% of organizations in the Asia-Pacific region plan to increase AI spending by an average of 15% within the next year. This trend is mirrored in the ASEAN+ region, which includes Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Companies are shifting from pilot projects to outcomes-led AI, with 88% targeting positive ROI by 2026. The report highlights that 66% of organizations in the region have adopted AI, and hybrid AI architecture is becoming standard. Indonesia is positioned to integrate into a $3 trillion investment landscape, with a projected 14% annual growth in its data center industry until 2028, driven by increasing AI workloads.
