The Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) asserts that national security is fundamental for achieving national development goals, as stated by Commander Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede. The AFZ's roles are aligned with the National Development Strategy 2, which emphasizes security for sustainable development.
Nzvede noted the evolving security landscape, which includes traditional defense and non-military threats. The AFZ is also preparing for natural disasters, leveraging air power for disaster management.
