Italy's Defense Sector Attracts Major Investments from US, European and Local Funds
Recent acquisitions in Italy's defense industry signify a growing recognition of its technological capabilities by international investors. These deals, involving Tekne, Deas, and T-Defence, highlight a strategic shift towards enhancing national security through targeted investment.

In a span of 48 hours, Nuburu acquired 70% of Tekne, Cdp Equity obtained 85.5% of T-Defence, and Xenon Private Equity took over Deas, reshaping Italy's defense supply chain. The combined value of these transactions underlines a trend where trusted capital from Italy, Europe, and the US is increasingly drawn to the technological strengths of Italian defense firms.
Notably, Tekne's advanced anti-drone and EMP technologies are projected to generate €565 million in revenue from NATO markets by 2030. Additionally, Fincantieri's recent €600 million expansion into the underwater segment exemplifies how national primes are leveraging acquisitions to enhance their capabilities. As the global defense finance sector accelerates, Italy is positioned as a key player in the supply of advanced defense technologies.
