Air Products to Supply Low-Carbon Liquid Hydrogen to ArianeGroup for Engine Testing
Air Products has signed a three-year agreement to supply low-carbon liquid hydrogen to ArianeGroup, enhancing sustainable practices in European space launch operations. This collaboration, ongoing since 1997, aims to reduce CO2 emissions during engine tests for the Ariane 6 launch vehicle.

Air Products will provide low-carbon liquid hydrogen to ArianeGroup for three years, focusing on engine tests and related R&D in Europe. Hydrogen will be liquefied at the Port of Rotterdam and transported to Vernon, France, for use in developing and testing the Vulcain 2.1 and Vinci engines for Ariane 6.
This agreement extends a partnership established in 1997, emphasizing a reduced CO2 footprint. Air Products, a leading hydrogen supplier with $12 billion in sales in 2025, is enhancing its hydrogen infrastructure to support cleaner operations. The collaboration signifies a strategic move toward more sustainable practices in European space exploration.
