AirTrunk Secures $1.24 Billion Green Loan for TOK1 Data Center Expansion in Tokyo
AirTrunk has secured a JP¥191.6 billion ($1.24 billion) green loan to refinance debt and support the expansion of its TOK1 hyperscale data center in East Tokyo. This financing, the largest for a data center in Japan, will enable the addition of more than 100MW of IT load, increasing the campus's capacity to over 300MW. The development aligns with Japan's Green Transformation strategy and aims to meet rising demands for cloud and AI services. AirTrunk's total investment in Japan exceeds $8 billion, supporting multiple digital infrastructure projects.

AirTrunk has obtained a JP¥191.6 billion ($1.24 billion) green loan to refinance existing debt and facilitate the expansion of its TOK1 hyperscale data center in East Tokyo. This marks the largest data center financing in Japan to date.
The loan will support the addition of over 100MW of IT load, increasing the site's total capacity to more than 300MW. AirTrunk's investment in Japan now exceeds $8 billion, backing various digital infrastructure initiatives, including its second campus OSK2 in Osaka. The financing aligns with Japan's Green Transformation strategy and supports its Basic Plan for Artificial Intelligence by enhancing the country's digital infrastructure.
