Akaysha Energy Partners with Copenhagen Energy for Battery Storage in Germany
Akaysha Energy has entered the German market, following a AU$300 million debt facility secured in September 2025. This partnership aims to develop large-scale battery storage projects, leveraging Copenhagen Energy's expertise in power trading and optimization.

Akaysha Energy has announced its entry into the German market, supported by a AU$300 million (US$214 million) debt facility aimed at international expansion. The collaboration with Copenhagen Energy focuses on developing multiple large-scale battery storage projects in Germany, although specific details on locations and timelines remain undisclosed.
Akaysha's reputation stems from its flagship 850MW Waratah Super Battery in Australia, which faced issues due to a transformer failure but achieved notable output in 2025. The firm has also initiated operations on various projects including the 155MW Ulinda Park and the 205MW Brendale BESS. This partnership may enhance the competitiveness of battery storage solutions in Europe as demand for energy arbitrage and capacity market participation grows.
