Akela Ground Engineering has installed a precast foundation system for eight Battery Energy Storage System units and two Power Conversion System units for Emtec in Sandwich, Kent, in less than eight weeks. The project utilized 200 × 200 mm driven precast concrete piles, reaching depths of 15 meters, and integrated the ABeam precast ground beam system.

Over 800 linear meters of precast piling were installed in five days, followed by 220 linear meters of ground beams in two days. ABeam's design eliminates in-situ concrete and reduces weather dependency, enhancing the construction process. The project, which began in November, highlights Akela's commitment to sustainable practices and supports the UK's low-carbon energy grid.
