AKTOR Group and BNI Foundation Form Joint Venture for Mining in Albania
AKTOR Group and BNI Foundation have signed an agreement to create a joint venture in Albania, with AKTOR holding 51% and BNI 49%. The joint venture will explore and exploit mineral resources, including over 500,000 tons of nickel and 25,000 tons of cobalt in the Bilisht area. The project will also develop infrastructure and processing facilities, with an estimated total investment of up to 1 billion euros, primarily funded by US capital.

AKTOR Group and BNI Foundation will establish a joint venture in Albania, with AKTOR holding a 51% stake through AKTOR Metal, and BNI holding 49% via its subsidiaries. The venture will focus on the exploration and exploitation of mineral resources in the Bilisht area, targeting over 500,000 tons of nickel and over 25,000 tons of cobalt.
It will also develop necessary infrastructure and processing units. BNI will contribute existing exploitation rights. Total investment is projected to reach 1 billion euros, primarily from US financing, as the project progresses.
