Alfa Laval Completes Factory Acceptance Test for FCM Ammonia Fuel Supply System
Alfa Laval has finalized the certified Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for its FCM Ammonia fuel supply system, achieving commercial readiness for ammonia-fuelled engines. The test, conducted under the oversight of the China Classification Society (CCS), verified that the system meets essential safety and functional standards necessary for its integration into two-stroke engines.
This FAT is part of a larger project involving seven units ordered by Tianjin Southwest Maritime and incorporates dual-fuel ammonia engines supplied by WinGD, with vessels constructed at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding. The project aims to support the maritime industry's shift to low-carbon fuels, particularly ammonia, as a long-term solution for reducing emissions.
