Alibaba Cloud will officially begin operations in Brazil in July 2026, targeting the expanding local cloud market. The company aims to capture a share of the Brazilian cloud sector, which generated R$ 85 billion in 2025 and is expected to attract R$ 765.6 billion in investments from 2026 to 2029.

The Brazilian cloud market experienced significant growth, reaching R$ 85 billion in 2025. Alibaba Cloud plans to invest approximately US$ 53.4 billion in AI and cloud infrastructure over the next three years.
The entry into Brazil is part of a broader global expansion strategy, with plans to establish data centers in multiple countries. AWS currently leads the Brazilian market with a 57% share, while Microsoft Azure holds 28%. Alibaba Cloud's competitive pricing and infrastructure resilience could reshape this competitive landscape, especially as AI usage increases.
