The Allen Township Board of Supervisors approved the conversion of a 1 million-square-foot Prologis warehouse into a data center. The unanimous decision allows for the facility, located at 2500 Liberty Drive, to accommodate the increased demand for data centers.
Originally approved in 2016 and completed in 2023, the site will reduce daily vehicle traffic from 900 to less than 100 and will not expand the building's footprint. Prologis will implement a closed loop cooling system and has plans for backup generators. The facility is projected to employ 100 to 120 skilled workers and will utilize solar panels, along with conducting pre- and post-noise studies.
