Alternergy Launches 5-Megawatt Dupinga Hydro Power Plant in Nueva Ecija
Alternergy Holdings Corp. has commenced commercial operations of its 5-MW Dupinga run-of-river hydroelectric power plant in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, with an investment of P1.7 billion. This is the company's second renewable project launched this year, following the Balsik solar power plant. The Dupinga facility will produce 23,000 MWh annually for NEECO II - Area 2, serving approximately 13,000 households and reducing carbon emissions by 16,500 metric tons over 25 years.

Alternergy Holdings Corp., through Dupinga Mini Hydro Corp., has started commercial operations of its 5-megawatt Dupinga hydroelectric power plant in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, with an investment of P1.7 billion. This plant is the second renewable facility launched in 2023, following the 28-MW Balsik solar power plant.
The Dupinga project will generate 23,000 MWh annually for the Nueva Ecija II Electric Cooperative Inc. for 25 years and is expected to provide clean power to about 13,000 households, avoiding 16,500 metric tons of carbon emissions. Alternergy plans to focus resources on additional projects in Kiangan, Ifugao, and aims for a total of 1 gigawatt of renewable energy by 2030.
