Amazon and Skyborn Renewables Finalize Major PPA for Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm in Germany
Amazon has signed a 600 MW Power Purchase Agreement for the Gennaker offshore wind farm, marking Germany's largest single PPA. This project will significantly contribute to Germany's renewable energy goals and regional economic development.

Amazon has entered a 600 megawatt (MW) Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Gennaker offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea, which will become Germany’s largest. The project is designed to enhance energy security and support the local economy of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, with a projected investment of 3 billion Euros.
Construction is set to commence in summer 2026, aiming for operational status by late 2028, adding up to 976.5 MW of offshore wind capacity. The Gennaker site will feature 63 turbines and is expected to power over one million homes.
The deal represents 61% of the farm's capacity, aligning with Germany's 2030 offshore wind target of 30 GW. This investment reinforces Amazon's commitment to carbon-free energy, increasing its portfolio in Germany to over 1.3 GW capacity across 12 projects.
