Amazon Announces €33.7 Billion Investment in Spain for Cloud and AI Infrastructure Expansion

Amazon plans to invest €33.7 billion in Spain to enhance data center infrastructure, primarily in Aragón, as announced at MWC26. This investment builds on the €15.7 billion allocated for 2024, aimed at improving AI and cloud services for European organizations.
It is expected to contribute €31.7 billion to Spain's GDP by 2035 and support around 29,900 jobs annually, including 6,700 direct positions in data center management and supply chain roles. The initiative also includes €30 million for community education and sustainability programs. Amazon emphasizes renewable energy commitments and aims to be water-positive by 2030.
