Amazon Plans $5 Billion Data Center Campus Next to Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant in Texas

Amazon is set to develop Project Spectrum, a $5 billion data center campus next to Vistra's Comanche Peak nuclear plant in Somervell County, Texas. The Somervell County commissioners court has initiated a development agreement with Amazon Data Services.
The project could encompass 18 two-story buildings across 435 acres, with construction expected to start in 2027. The agreement includes a $2.5 million payment upon groundbreaking and $300,000 annually per building. Additionally, Amazon is collaborating with Hood County officials for a related data center project spanning over 1,265 acres.
