Ameren Illinois Completes LaSalle Link Project to Enhance Power Reliability
The LaSalle Link Project is now operational, featuring an 11-mile transmission line that connects Oglesby to North Utica in Illinois. This upgrade improves grid reliability and prepares the area for future energy demands.

Ameren Illinois has completed the LaSalle Link Project, an 11-mile high-voltage transmission line that operates at 138 kilovolts, linking the Corbin substation in Oglesby to a substation near North Utica. The project, which received approval from the Illinois Commerce Commission in August 2023, was finished ahead of schedule and under budget, emphasizing efficient planning.
Upgrades to aging substations were also made to accommodate current and future electricity needs. Local workers were prioritized during construction, enhancing community involvement. This initiative is expected to reduce outages and improve recovery times, bolstering the region's power infrastructure to meet growing demands.
