AMT Eliminates Fines for Vehicles with Plate Ending in 3
The AMT has announced no fines for vehicles with plates ending in 3, impacting registration costs. This decision follows issues with the SUIT system, allowing compliance until November 2026.

The Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) confirmed that drivers of vehicles with plates ending in 3 will not incur fines for technical reviews. This decision was made due to disruptions in the Unified Transit System (SUIT).
Owners of such vehicles will be exempted from the $25 fee for technical reviews and registration during April 2026. The AMT has set the compliance deadline for vehicle review and registration until November 2026. Additionally, the AMT has scheduled maintenance for the Quito Municipality Data Center from April 30 to May 2, 2026, for system upgrades.
