Andalucía's Data Center Market Faces Structural Challenges Amidst Growth Plans
Andalucía aims to establish a stronger presence in Spain's data center market with over 830 MW of projects planned within two years. However, infrastructure deficiencies and late entry into the sector hinder its competitiveness compared to leading regions like Aragón and Madrid.

Andalucía has announced over 830 MW in data center projects over the next two years, yet struggles to compete nationally. Major operators in the region include EdgeMode, Sierra DC, and Go Energy, with seven operational centers primarily in Málaga and Sevilla.
EdgeMode plans a campus offering 1.5 GW across five sites, two in Córdoba and Torrecampo, each with 300 MW capacity. Sierra DC is commencing construction of a facility in Escúzar, with a potential 100 MW, while Go Energy's TRON campus in Huelva aims for 133 MW by 2028. Despite these initiatives, structural issues like electrical grid limitations deter investment, placing Andalucía behind larger hubs that benefit from better infrastructure and planning.
