Andalusia's Project Acceleration Unit Manages €18 Billion Across 145 Projects
The Unidad Aceleradora de Proyectos (UAP) in Andalusia has streamlined the management of large investments, mobilizing over €18 billion. While this initiative has improved project processing times, bureaucratic challenges persist for SMEs and freelancers.
The Unidad Aceleradora de Proyectos (UAP) has successfully coordinated 145 projects worth more than €18 billion in Andalusia. This initiative was created in response to bureaucratic hurdles that hindered investment and has improved processing times significantly.
The UAP prioritizes energy-related projects, with over 60 focused on renewables and green hydrogen. Additionally, the unit has expanded to include large residential developments, such as a project in Villanueva del Pítamo for nearly 10,000 homes. Despite these advancements, industry leaders report ongoing administrative complexities for SMEs and autonomous workers, indicating a dual-speed administration where large projects benefit from expedited processes while smaller enterprises face enduring delays.
