Andhra Pradesh Amends Green Energy Open Access Regulation to Align with Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has amended the Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) Regulation, 2024, to align it with the Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, 2024, announced on 16.10.2024. The ICE Policy aims to attract ₹10 lakh crores in investment and create 7.5 lakh jobs.
Key amendments include explicit inclusion of unutilized energy from green sources for banking, allowing EV charging stations to procure power from Green Open Access generators, and provisions for data aggregation in case of differing generation/consumption intervals. Existing generators will continue under earlier regulations until agreements end, while new applications will follow the amended GEOA Regulation.
The effective date for these amendments is the first day of the next billing cycle post-Gazette notification. Other changes include standby charges, exemptions for green hydrogen projects, and banking limits tied to state peak demand.
