Andreas Brumby Advocates Hydrogen Use in Hanau Despite Public Skepticism
Andreas Brumby discussed the future of hydrogen in Germany during an event in Hanau, supported by the H2anau alliance. He highlighted the transition from natural gas to hydrogen in pipeline systems, specifically the Flow-Pipeline from the North Sea to Hesse. Brumby emphasized the need for technological openness and noted hydrogen production in Denmark and the Baltics. He mentioned BMW's investment in hydrogen fuel cells, while acknowledging the current scarcity of hydrogen refueling stations. The event raised concerns about the efficiency and transport of hydrogen.

Andreas Brumby presented the potential of hydrogen in Germany at an event in Hanau, backed by the H2anau alliance. He highlighted plans to replace natural gas with hydrogen in sections of the Flow-Pipeline, which extends over 400 kilometers from the North Sea to Hesse, managed by Gascade.
Brumby called for technological openness, stressing the need for both gas and hydrogen. He discussed hydrogen production in Denmark and Spain while noting BMW's investment in hydrogen technology. The number of hydrogen refueling stations has decreased to about 50. Concerns were raised regarding transportation efficiency and the viability of using existing natural gas pipelines for hydrogen.
