Andritz AG Secures Major Contract for Hydropower Plant in Turkey
Andritz AG has secured a contract valued in the lower three-digit million euro range for the Cizre hydropower plant in Turkey. This project contributes to Turkey's renewable energy expansion, which currently accounts for 62% of the country's total installed capacity.

Andritz AG will provide complete electromechanical equipment for the Cizre hydropower plant in Turkey, valued in the lower three-digit million euro range. The contract involves design, manufacturing, delivery, and installation of equipment through a subsidiary of CABA Group.
The plant will have a total installed capacity of 339 MW, including five Francis turbines of 64 MW each and an additional unit of 19 MW. The order was recognized in Q1 2026. Turkey's renewable energy sector constitutes 62% of its total capacity, with the new facility expected to enhance renewable energy generation and grid stability. This investment highlights the growing trend in renewable energy projects globally, which may introduce risks related to technological dependency and market fluctuations.
