Anduril Industries has announced a $5 billion funding round, increasing its valuation to $61 billion from $30.5 billion in June 2025. The investment was led by Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, marking a total of $6.82 billion raised through eight funding rounds.
Established in 2017, Anduril produces autonomous drones and military software, recently securing a $20 billion contract with the U.S. Army. Concurrently, researchers have developed an autonomous robot for coral reef studies, enhancing biodiversity mapping capabilities.
In a separate development, Google is negotiating with SpaceX to launch orbital data centers, a field that faces engineering challenges but promises energy efficiency. These advancements signal a shift toward integrating AI and innovative technologies in defense and environmental research.
