Anglo American Adjusts Output Forecast Amid Coal Mine Fire and Flat Production
Anglo American has revised its coking coal output forecast downward, anticipating production between 14 to 15.5 million tons due to an underground fire. Copper production remains stable at 393,800 metric tons, aligning with full-year expectations amid increasing demand for the metal.

Anglo American's copper production increased by 2% to 393,800 metric tons in the first half of the year, projected to meet annual targets. However, the company's forecast for coking coal output has been lowered to between 14 million and 15.5 million tons, impacted by a fire at its Grosvenor mine in Australia.
The assessment and potential re-opening of the mine could span several months. Additionally, iron ore production remained stable at around 31 million tons, while platinum group metals output fell by 5% and diamond production declined by 19%. The timing and value of coal asset sales are now uncertain, which may affect Anglo's overall financial outlook.
