The five-year project aims to enhance sanitation services in Lobito, Catumbela, Benguela, Navegantes, and Baía Farta.
It includes the remodeling and expansion of the Lobito and Benguela Wastewater Treatment Plants to increase capacity. New infrastructure for fecal sludge treatment will also be established in informal settlements lacking networked sanitation.
Contracts are signed, and construction is set to begin soon, with community engagement planned for tariff proposals. The project, scheduled to launch in 2024, is expected to create various job opportunities for local labor.
