Anvil Robotics Secures $5.5M to Develop Modular Robotics Platform
Anvil Robotics has raised $5.5 million in seed funding to create an accessible modular robotics platform for businesses. The startup aims to streamline the development of robotic systems for companies lacking extensive resources, addressing a significant gap in the robotics market.

Anvil Robotics, based in San Francisco, has secured $5.5 million in seed funding, led by Matter Venture Partners, to enhance its platform for modular robotics. The company, founded in July 2025, provides customizable robots aimed at physical AI teams, allowing users to build their desired systems rapidly.
Anvil's robots, which can be assembled using pre-built kits, typically cost between $1,900 and $10,000. The firm has shipped over 100 units globally since its launch in September 2025. Anvil's open-source approach distinguishes it from competitors, enabling customers to avoid vendor lock-in and choose their component sources.
The startup has reached seven-figure revenue and plans to diversify its offerings further with software and services. The increasing awareness of supply chain risks may bolster Anvil's market position as companies seek alternatives to traditional manufacturing hubs.
